Recruitment & Selection
Selection Techniques
Recruitment is about discriminating – but doing so fairly.
The more information you can provide for a potential applicant the better –
Well written job descriptions or role outlines, - informative and precise
person specifications which detail the essential and the desirable elements.
Both allow applicants to select [or de-select] accordingly. Individuals can
make an informed choice about their own ability to perform in the role and
will know what is – and is not- expected of them.
When it comes to the face to face interview both parties are on a level
playing field – and each has a solution at hand.
It is critical then that the interview is well structured, planned and gives
mutual opportunity to expand the information previously given. Or to present
themselves and their potential approach to the new role.
We recommend the inclusion of a ‘walk and talk’ interview component. We
realise that not all positions warrant a formal presentation yet there are
still ways and means of testing out your potential appointee.
Ensure first class candidates who are well informed and keen to join your
organisation.
